Spanning from March 2020 to May 2021, the past year of RYO has been dominated by Zoom rehearsals. Although far from ideal, rather than admitting defeat, RYO used this as an opportunity to explore a wider range of music than usual, focusing on a total of 11 pieces across that same time frame. These range from the symphonies of Schubert and Mozart, to arrangements of pieces from films and musicals, some of which were recorded and mixed into videos by Nolan Chenchery, one of our cellists. Using our newfound experience of online performance, we were also able to provide a recording of an original A level composition to be submitted by Pippa Moore, definitely a highlight of our year.
We made four videos in total, all recorded independently and mixed together into a single track. You can see these below.
